Report for Western, KY District Convention
Feb 29 - March 1
Joh 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come…”
In recognizing the success of our District Convention, I would like to thank all those that attended and contributed to the daily sessions. First and foremost, however, I thank God for His presence, anointing, and leading from the opening of the convention until the closing.
The theme of this years district convention was taken from John 16:13. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come…”
On Friday night, we gathered together at Sturgis, KY to conduct the District Convention for western KY. From the very beginning of the session the Holy Ghost began to manifest His presence. True worship was taking place and it was evidenced that God was pleased by the outpouring of His Spirit. Some spoke in tongues, some cried, some shouted, but I believe that I can say with confidence that all were blessed. After much rejoicing, our Regional Overseer, Bishop Paul Jernigan, delivered the message. His message was in line with the theme of the convention and reminded us of our dependence on the Holy Ghost and the necessity to let Him work through us. We dismissed the session that night with thankfulness for what God had done and in anticipation of what God was going to do the next day.
On Saturday morning, we came together again and started the day by worshiping God. Immediately, the presence of God was felt by all. We gave pause as He moved among us and spoke to us by His Spirit. This session was marked by the overwhelming influence of the Holy Ghost. It seemed to me that most if not all of the speakers that morning had to abandon their prepared notes in favor of what the Holy Ghost was immediately impressing upon their hearts. Thank God for men and women who are sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. God spoke to us that morning through His Word and His Spirit, by preachers and by message and interpretation, and in perfect unity.
We dismissed for lunch and everyone went to the fellowship hall. Lunch was provided by the Sturgis church. There was good food and good fellowship.
Saturday afternoon we received some excellent boosts from our Regional auxiliary secretaries. We thank the Lord for their faithfulness and hard work. May God bless them and continue to inspire them in His service.
Again, I want to thank God for His mighty presence in this convention. Many testimonies were given concerning what God had done. At least two people felt that God had given them a special revelation or vision while in the altar. I believe that all received a special blessing and that our zeal for the Lord and the work that He has given us was renewed.
Lead on Holy Ghost, Lead on! Hallelujah!
