How many of you have ever called on the name of “Jesus?” I believe each one of us could answer that by saying “many times”. So, I want you to think of a time when you have called on the name of Jesus. It may be a situation that you were going through, a time when you were scared, or any other time that you called on the name of “Jesus.”

Now, I want you to ponder the question: did He answer when I needed Him or did He leave me hanging? I didn’t ask whether He answered things the way you wanted them answered or even right away, but rather, was He there when you called upon His name?

Psalm 34: 15, 17-19, reads “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

Let’s look at some scripture references to The Name of “Jesus”

Highest Name of All

Philippians 2: 9-11, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
(Referring to Jesus in this scripture) Ephesians 1: 21 states, “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.”
Hebrews 1: 4, “Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

There is Power in the name of Jesus

Mark 16: 17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out deWls; they shall sneak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Luke 10: 17-19, “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
James 2:19 reads, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well:
the devils also believe, and tremble.”

When the devil tempts you.. .Just Say No!

James 4: 7 reads, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Let us remember that God holds all power and at the name of Jesus, you can and will overcome every situation that you are going through right now, if you put total faith and trust in Him. May God Bless You!
